Marietta, Georgia
In historic, downtown Marietta the trains move slowly by the shops close by. Standing a few feet away, and refusing to stay underneath his dad’s umbrella, Andy stood in pouring rain, water on his lens, and captured the distorted lights of an engine creeping by. (Indeed, the image is unedited; a long exposure on a dark, rainy day is all Andy needed to capture this winning photo.)\n\n_Train Lights_ is one of Andy’s first iconic photos, having won local and regional school competitions and included in a gallery of his photos in Moscow. Andy was only 13 at the time he took this photo.
